Michael D. Dancison

Organization: American Electric Power owns more than 36,000 megawatts of generating capacity in the United States and is the nation's largest electricity generator. AEP serves more than five million customers who are linked to its 11-state electricity transmission and distribution grid. The company's headquarter office is located in Columbus, Ohio, U. S. A.

Work Activities: Michael D. Dancison is Director - New Generation Development. His responsibilities include power plant technology assessments, new generation siting, and project development.

Background and Work: While at AEP, Dancison held the position of Director - Generation for AEP Resources, directing, managing, and performing technical assessments inter-nationally as well as within the United States. Dancison also held leadership positions within multi-company development teams and provided environmental program and development support to AEP Pro Serv. Dancison's responsibilities included reviewing power plant generating assets to make an informed business judgment about their acquisition and new builds for Wholesale.

Dancison received his Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Gannon College in 1971. He joined AEP that same year and has 36 years' continuous service. He also completed the AEP Management Program held at The University of Michigan in 1981.
