Report n°1: The new constraints of urban development

What are the relationships between these developments and the activities of Veolia Environnement?

In general, the new forms of urbanisation previously described present new challenges for the business lines within Veolia Environnement. In fact, the services offered are no longer appropriate. While new ways of life are appearing and mindsets are changing, Veolia Environnement must respond to the changing demand and adapt its services to the newly emerging trends. For each thread of activity, we can ask ourselves what changes could present an opportunity for evolving and adapting the services provided. As the economic viability of the suggestions is not dealt with in this report, and would in any case depend strongly on numerous external factors which are as yet unknown, the company endeavours to remain resolutely focused on a qualitative approach.

In each case, we must also focus on the technical aspects required to allow us to adapt to perceived changes in spatial forms of urbanisation, as well as on the social and sociological aspects that characterise the changes of mentalities and expectations on the part of the consumer.
