FACTS - Field Action Science
Development, health, humanitarian action, education, environment - so many themes which, without being exhaustive, mobilize the intervention of numerous actors, NGO, governmental and multilateral agencies, academic institutions and consultancies world-wide.
From all these activities emerge knowledge, know‑how, results from experiments and valuable problem solving, which are not adequately disseminated and shared between actors in the field. The FACTS initiative, launched by Professor Kourilsky, aims to enhance, capitalise and disseminate the knowledge resources produced by field actions and foster their take up by all in routine actions.
The finality of FACTS initiative is to collect and to disseminate knowledge, methodologies, and best practices. Today this takes the form of an international journal "FACTS Reports", functioning according the rules which prevail in the scientific community.
creation of the international review "FACTS Reports" was announced last March 12th 2007, in Lyons, during the Forum Biovision and was officially released in December 2008.

World Life Science Forum Biovision 2009
Two years after its official announcement, a conference on FACTS Reports has been held on March 10th within the World Life Science Forum Biovision 2009 (which has focused on "the contribution of Life Sciences to sustainable urban development"). The FACTS Reports Conference has brought together 25 international field actors to discuss major development issues such as the global water crisis, the food crisis, governance and health.
"FACTS Reports" side event - GDN Kuwait 2009
Founded in 1997 by among others Joseph Stiglitz, the Global Development Network (GDN) is home to a multidisciplinary group of academics, researchers, and policy-makers, all working toward the common goals of bridging the gap between research and policy.
The Annual meeting of the GDN was held in Kuwait City from February 3rd to February 5th 2009. Each year, around 700 participants from across the world attend the Annual meeting which raises major issues related to development.
