Alex Farrell

Alex Farrell is an Assistant Professor in the Energy and Resources Group at the University of California at Berkeley and director of the Transportation Sustainability Research Center.
He has a degree in Systems Engineering from the U. S. Naval Academy a Ph. D. in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania. He has worked in the military, the private sector, at Harvard and at Carnegie Mellon University.
Alex has published over two dozen peer-reviewed papers in journals such as Science, Environmental Science & Technology, and Energy Policy. His work focuses on the environmental and security implications of the energy sector. Most recently, Alex co-directed a two volume study on the California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard.
