Ana Cristina Barros

Ana Cristina Barros has a background in ecology & political sciences. Since June 2003 she has been Country Representative for The Nature Conservancy in Brazil. Her responsibilities include representing the Conservancy before government institutions, private and public organizations, NGOs and discussion forums.
She is also responsible for analyzing and collaborating with the Brazilian government and others on public policies related to protected areas, sustainable agriculture and infrastructure, and recently in climate change. Internally, she provides technical advice to Conservancy programs, strengthening the Brazilian Trustee Advisory Board and coordinating in-country marketing.
Her past experience includes director positions with various Brazilian NGOs, government relations and scientific research institutions. She has contributed for a series of publications on scientific journals and books.
