Dive into our 2024 highlights and discover how our initiatives and achievements have strengthened our commitment to advancing ecological and societal transitions.
In 2024, the Veolia Institute continued its forward-looking exploration of the major challenges at the crossroads of environment and society. Health and climate, sobriety, artificial intelligence, biomimicry, or regenerative economics, each theme questioning how we produce, consume, and inhabit the world.
2024 IN REVIEW:
The year was marked by the Talk with Philippe Aghion on artificial intelligence, Kalina Raskin on biomimicry, and Françoise Gaill on the oceans, as well as Scientific Rencontres with Veolia’s Scientific and Technical Expertise Department (DEST) on antimicrobial resistance and pandemics. It also featured two new issues of the FACTS Review on Sobriety and on Health & Environment, each followed by a public debate.
💡 LOOKING AHEAD TO 2025:
Upcoming highlights include a special issue on artificial intelligence and environmental services (co-published with Microsoft), another on biodiversity and climate change, conferences on responsible consumption, eco-anxiety and hydrogen, as well as new Rencontres and Scientific Rencontres to further enrich prospective thinking.
